After The Virus

After the virus,

We’ll see the world again,

We’ll hold our lovers from a land way back when,

We’ll dance with one another,

In a club some place,

It’s an idyllic life so full of space.

After the virus,

We’ll walk toward an aeroplane again,

And we’ll think: Finally, I’ll get to see Big Ben!

Or maybe Machu Picchu,

A land from then,

And when we’re back in our office,

Well be with our friends and our colleagues,

Back doing deeds,

With new things to seed.

After the virus,

We’ll frequent cafes,

And bars again too,

With a boat load of liquor,

And no sight of anything full o’ rigour,

And when we’re eating with family,

We’ll break bread once more,

And we’ll think of our health workers,

The heroes they are,

And we’ll remember the virus,

The virus of yonder,

With few then in bed,

And no tears that we once shed.

After the virus,

It’ll be a world full of sunlight,

And happiness once more,

With so many smiles,

All satisfied to the core,

And miles and miles,

Of people out walking,

For they’re no longer at war.

Oh,

And we’ll be curious again,

We’ll be sure to laugh for that’s a win,

We’ll carry on those dates we planned,

Spending money well up to a grand,

For this is after the virus,

And we’ll be free once again.

I’m telling you it’ll be a world of opportunity,

One that’s new you know,

So now it’s up to you to decide,

What it is that you might sow,

And how it might well be,

That we’ll all grow.
